Fantastic sanctuary where you can hold, pet, and feed some of the animals. We loved feeding the kangaroos and wallabies, who will just come up and eat the (specially provided) food out of your hands. There's koala handling for an additional charge. Be sure to see the Wambats and Tasmanian Devils who prefer to sleep most of the day.
What a lovely sanctuary!! The enclosures are spacious and we enjoyed walking around with the free roaming animals. It felt as if I was walking around a big park/garden with animals. It was amazing to feed kangaroos and wallabies! We signed up for the koala encounter and it was nice to get a photo with a koala (a once in a life opportunity for us). Others left low reviews based on the difficulty of reaching the sanctuary from Melbourne or how it was a "boring" experience. It took planning to reach the sanctuary but it's worth it. And it is NOT a boring experience at all. I suggest visiting the Bonorong Sanctuary in Tasmania if you have the time. It's a wonderful place too!
Loved my visit to this place - animals were so cute and there was plenty of time to feed the kangaroos and an opportunity to try different experiences. Admission fee was reasonable. A good day out all in all and highly recommended!!
This sanctuary has undergone an amazing transformation over the last few years, staff were great and it had plenty of animals to see. Staff were fantastic and if you are lucky enough to come upon them whilst doing health checks, they were happy to talk you through the process. Entry price is fair and increases if you want to add more experiences like handling snakes and petting koalas.
We had so much fun here!!! We took a guided tour that included this as one of the stops, and we had a great time feeding and petting the marsupials, learning about the dingos and koalas, and observing the many different types of birds. We spent 2 hours here but I easily could have spent the whole day here. In addition to walking around the park on your own you can attend a show in the ampitheatre and learn more about the individual animals. We got food to feed the marsupials and they just come right up to you and ready out of your hand! Incredible experience and would definitely do again.
